Printing and Exporting Outlines

You can now print or export outlines from the Course Outline Library for sharing or your personal use. Downloading an outline produces a PDF version that has been tagged and is readable by screen readers. Printing an outline gives you the option to print a physical copy. There are a couple of ways to do this.

To Download an Outline:

  1. Navigate to the outline you wish to export, either in the Course Outline Library or in your My Courses page.
  2. As you hover your mouse over the thumbnail for the outline, you should see two options. One is to View, while the other is to Print. Two buttons on top of the thumbnail for an outline. The button on the left reads View. The button of the right reads Print.
  3. Clicking on “View” opens up the browser version of the outline. In the top right corner of the screen, you should see a button to print it, as well as a downward facing arrow. Click on that arrow. There are three buttons. The one on the left says Print. The one on the right is a downward facing arrow. Below the arrow is a button labelled Download.
  4. From there, you can download your PDF.

If you choose instead to print your outline, please know that the “Print to PDF” option from the print screen will remove all accessibility features. Be aware of this if you plan to share a digital version of your outline with others.

As a final note, if an outline has been set to “Private” by the instructor, you will have to reach out to the instructor for a copy. The only people who can see/print/download a “Private” outline are those currently enrolled in the course. If you are a student in that class, please make sure you are logged in before trying to print.
