There are several reasons why an instructor might not have a MacID but still need to use the portal to build their outline. A sessional instructor, new hire, or someone from another institution, for example, might all teach at Mac but not have a MacID (yet). How do they interact with the portal?
The short answer is they cannot log in without a MacID. What we have been suggesting for cases like these is the instructor can put together their outline in a separate document and then pass it along to someone within the department (generally an approver, like a manager or a chair). We can give that manager or chair editing permission for the course, and then if the instructor gets a MacID later we can adjust it so that they are the editor of the course.
